Environmental Projects
All faith traditions contain teachings about the importance of care
for the earth and its creatures and inter faith environmental projects
are always popular. An inter faith gardening working camp is now in
its tenth year in Leicester and a number of local inter faith groups
such as Rugby Inter Faith
Forum and
Nottingham Inter Faith Council and the
Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames Inter-Faith Forum
have taken part in tree planting projects
| Nottingham Inter Faith Council
planted a group of trees to symbolise the different religions of
Nottingham working together and benefiting the community. The Lord
Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Des Wilson, officially dedicated
the trees at St Mary’s Rest Garden, Bath Street, Nottingham,
helped by children from nearby Sycamore Junior School and members
of local faith groups. |
